Roles - Describing instead of labelling
These next lessons deal with ideas building up toward self-acceptance.
ROLES
Each of us operate in many different roles in any one day. The view we have of a person may be a view limited by only a few roles in which we see them. Even if we did see more of those roles we may be ignorant of the feelings and concerns those people have beyond what we can see. When we think of our friends or significant others, how many people do we see them as, such as in more than one identity or role?
Plan to take time and THEN List as many of your roles as you can think of
Think of your daily tasks, your interests, your hobbies, your significant relationships to family, neighbours, workmates etc. and list all the roles you function in. Keep going at this one until you have exhausted ALL the roles you can possibly think of.
To help: you may consider how you relate to people at a higher strata of society e.g. The Prime minister, the Queen, etc.
