00 SET goals to help focus

GOALS are you aiming at what you can change, not what you cannot change. You can revisit and adjust them as progress is achieved and you realise from your new position, that your previous goals are inadequate.

Until you drive a peg in the sand you are not going to anchor where you place your tent in life.

Three Part Goal Setting

GOALS are about both needs and wants. The big issue is whether or not your goal is realistic. A faith or hope is based on a reality we cannot measure and the best part about it is your faith and hope are not so much in your own actions but in a trust placed in the divine. Keep things SIMPLE, DIRECT and SPECIFIC. You'll increase the odds of getting to where you AIM.

STEPS using your God given roles of Consumer and Supplier you first figure out what it is you really want or need. In terms of working on personal issues it can involve extreme negative emotions, dysfunctional behaviours, relationships, self-view etc.

CONSIDER your situation and carefully and thoroughly answer the next three questions BEFORE you make any further moves.

CONSUMER (receiver, user, beneficiary) - aiming at the things I want to RECEIVE and to NOT RECEIVE

WHAT I WANT LESS OF List in reasonably clear objective terms, relation to your issue, all the things (behaviours etc.) that you'd like less of.



What I want MORE of List again in clear and objective terms, in relation to your issue, all the things (behaviours etc.) that you would like to experience MORE of



What I want UNCHANGED (i.e. to stay the SAME) List now those things you currently enjoy and obtain satisfaction from that you would like to remain unchanged

SUPPLIER (provider, giver, delivery) - aiming at how I shall as a supplier take steps to provide the CONSUMER aims as my personal outcome
